Stripe Integration Setup
Connect Stripe to show payment notifications from any Stripe-powered product, subscription, or service.
What the Stripe integration does
The Stripe integration listens for successful payment events on your Stripe account and converts them into real-time notifications on your site. Unlike the Shopify or WooCommerce integrations, Stripe is not limited to physical product stores — it works for any business that collects payments through Stripe.
This includes SaaS subscriptions, digital downloads, consulting payments, course enrollments, coaching sessions, and any other product or service sold through a Stripe-powered checkout. If Stripe processes it and the payment succeeds, Activly can show it.
Setup steps
- In your Activly dashboard, go to Integrations → Stripe → Connect.
- You will be redirected to Stripe to authorize the connection — log in to your Stripe account if prompted, then click Allow access.
- You will be returned to Activly automatically.
- Choose which payment types to pull into your notifications:
- One-time payments — standard charges and purchases
- Subscriptions — new subscription starts and renewals
- Both — recommended for most businesses
- Optionally set a minimum amount threshold to filter out low-value transactions (for example, exclude payments under $5).
- Click Save. Successful payments will now appear in your Activly data feed.
What data is used
Activly pulls only what it needs to display a meaningful notification:
- Customer first name (from the Stripe customer record or billing details)
- City (from the billing address)
- Product or plan name
- Payment amount (optional — you can choose whether to display this)
Email addresses and full card details are never accessed or stored by Activly. Payment processing remains entirely within Stripe.
Use cases
The Stripe integration is particularly effective for:
- SaaS businesses — show subscription upgrades or new plan sign-ups
- Digital products — e-books, templates, presets, software licenses
- Service businesses — coaching payments, consulting retainers, session bookings
- Online courses — enrollment payments processed through Stripe Checkout or a custom integration
Important note on inventory features
Stripe tracks payments, not product inventory. If you want to show low-stock alerts or pull product-level detail like variant names or SKUs, connect Shopify or WooCommerce instead. The Stripe integration is optimized for payment events, not catalog data.
